Magnesium's role in sleep apnea
We aimed to uncover the relationship between magnesium levels and sleep quality, particularly focusing on sleep apnea. Our study analyzed data from a large group of adults aged 20 and older, using a well-structured method to assess magnesium levels and the prevalence of sleep issues.

We found a notable connection between lower magnesium levels, measured as the magnesium depletion score (MDS), and the likelihood of experiencing sleep apnea. Specifically, individuals with higher MDS levels were significantly more likely to report sleep apnea, showing over three times the odds compared to those with adequate magnesium levels.

Interestingly, our research did not link magnesium deficiency to other sleep problems like insomnia or restless legs syndrome, suggesting a more complex relationship with sleep apnea alone. Additionally, we noticed that older adults with depressive symptoms showed a tendency toward excessive sleep rather than insufficient sleep.

While our findings highlight the association between magnesium deficiency and sleep apnea, they also point towards the potential of adequate magnesium intake in reducing this risk. This emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper magnesium levels for better sleep quality, especially in those at higher risk for sleep apnea.

I used to experience cramps in my feet at bedtime, waking up with severe pain in my calves and feet. Since taking this pill nightly, those effects have vanished, allowing me to sleep peacefully. The package is quite large, and the pill itself is sizable, but that doesn't bother me. I recommend taking it as directed. I no longer suffer pain in my joints or muscles after a day of work.

After a month on a keto diet with severe side effects, I began taking this supplement as my doctor recommended. Within two days, my headaches vanished, and for the first time in weeks, I had an excellent night's sleep. I highly recommend this to anyone following a keto diet.

Better sleep quality

I purchased this supplement hoping for a good night's sleep. While I didn’t see dramatic improvement, I am sleeping better than before. The capsules are large but tasteless, and I consider it good value for money with 180 capsules in the bottle, so I would recommend it.

Having chronic lower back pain, I took one tablet before sleep and woke up pain-free and well-rested. I gave four stars because it caused diarrhoea, so I won’t repurchase it.

Migraines less frequent
6 people found this helpful
This product has greatly reduced my migraines since I started taking 400mg twice daily, alongside Feverfew. I now experience only 1-2 migraines every few months, and it has improved my sleep and reduced joint pain as well. Just be aware that high doses of magnesium can lead to loose stools initially.

Sleep improvement minimal

I began taking magnesium glycinate on a friend's advice for my sleep issues. This product, while highly rated, did not significantly improve my sleep compared to pure magnesium glycinate. It might be suitable if you're magnesium deficient, but for sleep aid, I suggest opting for magnesium glycinate instead or using this alongside it.

Good for rest
Magnesium is said to aid in resting the mind and soothing the nerves, which I believe is beneficial for deep sleep, especially for tackling sleep apnea.

Absorption concerns
1 people found this helpful
This seems beneficial; I take it at night, and my sleep has improved. However, I question the actual absorption of the 400 mg declared, as magnesium oxide is the primary ingredient. A respected doctor also mentioned aspartates being endotoxins. I won’t repurchase and will seek a more effective form; the intestinal effects were positive.

After a week of taking 400 mg daily, my sleep quality improved, and I felt more rested during the day. I also became less irritable and more productive mentally.

Eased nervousness

I purchased this for my mother based on a cardiologist's recommendation. The 400 mg dosage is adequate, and taking it an hour before sleeping has improved her sleep and helped with anxiety. Although the first ingredient, magnesium oxide, is less absorbable, it is a budget-friendly option. The large can will last a long time.
